Opt In

It cost $30.1 million dollars to have a super bowl commercial play for 30 seconds, and it cost 16 thousand for a VW Jetta. So if the dealer of VW is going to put out an ad in the Super Bowl, VW would have to sell
188 Jettas to break even.

Engineering Design: Project 2.4.1 - Design Project

1) I worked with Emmet G. and we made a candy dispenser. We thought of many different ideas before coming up with this one. At first we were just taking ideas from other people but then we just decided to but our minds together and come up with our own. It didn’t take us to long before we came up with the right model and it turned out to be a very good one.

2) We chose it because it was sleek, safe, and easy to use.

3) Step #1
We needed to find a device that is workable.
     Step #2
We had to brain storm and write out a design that we think will work.
     Step #4
It needed to be durable and fit a 8x4x4 measurment. There was a unique candy stile and shape that
needed to be used or else it would have gotten jammed or stuck.
4)

There is a slope inside of it to help the candy move down to the bottom. There is also an opening on top so you can refill it. There is a crank at the end of it so that you can control the amount of candy coming out.

Visual Design: Elements and Principles

1) 6 Visual Design Elements
     1. Line
     2. Color
     3. Space
     4. Texture
     5. Form/shape
     6. Value
2) 5 Visual Design Principles
     1. Balance
     2. Rhythm
     3. Emphasis
     4. Proportion and Scale
     5. Unity
3) Locate five items at home or at school that utilize the elements and principles of design. Post an image of each product. List and explain any visual design elements or principles that are evident in that product.
     1.
The visual designs that relate to this house are line and proportion and scale.
     2.
The visual designs that relate to this painting are balance and space.
     3.
The visual designs that relate to the silver wear are line, rhythem, texture, and value.
     4.
The visual designs that relate to the flowers are color and  texture

If I was King

Q- What is a field/hobby/something you have a passion for (surfing, sailing, robotics, painting, etc.)?-I have a passion for lacrosse.
Q- What person or organization in that field has used blogging to promote their brand?- warrior and brine are two major brands that use blogs to advertise there products.
Q- What is a field you might see yourself blogging about?- i could see myself blogging about lacrosse

5 survival items

  • Intro: This game showed us some of the most important things to bring with us if we were ever lost out at sea.
  • Personal Prioritization: I chose water as my first and food as my second only because you need thos two items to survive. The two items I thought were pointless was the radio because it was only one way and the map because if you don't know where you are there is no point in a map.
  • Team Prioritization:  We agreed on most things except for the radio and the mirror because they didn't know it was just a one way radio and you chould only listen to music on it and that they could use the mirror as a signal.
  • Expert Prioritization: There was a big difference between my choses and the coast guard, and the thing that suprised me the most was that they put water and food as number 4 and 5 and I would have thought that those were your top needs.

Tennis Ball Team Work Project

  • What was the challenge (list criteria and constraints)?-everone had to touch the tennis ball.
  • What plan did your team come up with to solve the challenge?-we sloped our hand so the ball could just role down our hands.
  • How did the execution of your plan work out?-it allowed the ball to move faster than some of the other ideas that we had.
  • What would you do the same?-keep the slope
  • What would you do differently?-i dont think that i would change anything

Go into some detail as far as how the plan developed on your team. Describe how the group collaborated and highlight any valuable contributions that other team members made. What types of collaboration seemed to work best in this type of setting?-i think team work and comunitation is the main reason why were so sucsessful.

Also, did the nature of the game evolve? What criteria or constraints changed and how did you adjust your strategy to deal with them.-at first we just put our hands in and roled the ball around but then we figured out that making a slope benifited us more.

What constraint or constraints would you add/change to make a new, more fun version of the game?-i would make everone touch the ball twice and have to use two hands instead of one

Did your team win or loose the game?-my team came out victorious!!!
